Where resonance is life, and life is the chord.
The world’s “now” — the anchor for deciding who is living, historical, or not yet born.

Originis is a super-Earth orbiting the amber dwarf Solvinar. Its atmosphere carries bioluminescent spores that paint the sky at dusk, and its very mountains sing. The Veyari — a resonance-attuned sapient species — evolved here in five distinct subtypes, each occupying a different ecological niche. Their civilization is built on harmonic manipulation of leyline energy rather than combustion or electronics.

Originis began as any world does — rock and gas condensing around a young star. But something in its deep crust was different: crystalline leyline nodes formed as the mantle cooled, threading the planet in a web of resonant energy. This energy seeped upward, shaping biochemistry. Over billions of years, life learned to hear, then to answer. The Sylvanet emerged — an intelligent root network. Then the Veyari. By the time they built cities, they built them to harmonize with the planet's hum.
Jagged coastlines and deep abyssal lakes. The Thal heartland — their underwater city-nets thread through the lake systems.
The crystalline desert continent — vast salt flats and mineral sand deserts where crystal formations grow from the ground. The Dren subtype evolved here, their skin developing a natural crystalline sheen to protect against the harsh environment and channel desert leylines.
The sky-reef continent — a tectonically uplifted plateau with enormous cliff faces housing sky-reef ecosystems. Floating archipelago formations exist above the plateau, maintained by resonance pressure from below. The Cael built their greatest sky-cities here.
The forested northern continent, home to vast fungal forests and the Singing Ranges — a mineral-rich mountain range that emits continuous harmonic tones as wind passes through crystal formations.
From planetary formation through the emergence of the Sylvanet. The leylines stabilize; life learns to hear the Chord.
The Veyari diverge from their common ancestor into five subtypes, each adapting to their niche. Tribal societies form around resonance totems.
The five subtypes make first contact with each other. The Glyphic language emerges as a universal bridge. The Triad philosophy is born.
The five subtypes formalize their alliance as the Triad Assembly. Resonance technology advances rapidly — the first leyline pulse networks, crystalline capacitors, and sky skiffs.
The current era. Post-scarcity civilization maintained through resonance manipulation. Tensions exist between the Dren crystalline-purity school and the Myrr integration philosophy.
The Sylvanet — a planet-spanning bioluminescent root network — achieves collective intelligence. The first organism on Originis to hear the full Chord.
Geographic isolation splits the proto-Veyari into five populations. Over 600,000 years, each develops into a distinct subtype shaped by their environment's resonance signature.
A Thal scouting party rounds the southern cape of Caerellia and encounters a Myrr village. Neither can speak the other's language; they communicate entirely in resonance patterns for three days before departing in peace.
The five subtypes agree on a shared pictographic-harmonic script at the Caerellia Summit. Glyphic encodes meaning visually and sonically simultaneously.
Representatives of all five subtypes sign the Triad Compact at the Singing Ranges, establishing the Triad Assembly as a permanent governing council.
The only major inter-subtype war in recorded history. The Dren crystalline-purity faction attempted to seal all leyline nodes in crystal, inadvertently cutting the Myrr off from their symbiotic fungi. The Myrr-Thal alliance counter-attacked. The war lasted 40 years.
Cael engineers working with Valari resonance theorists successfully transmit a complex message 3,000 km via leyline pulse — instantaneous, planet-spanning communication. Within a century, a global pulse network was operational.
Originis is a world of cooperation over conflict. The primary tension is internal: individual Veyari subtypes have clashing resonance philosophies. The Dren believe crystalline purity is the highest form; the Myrr believe integration with living systems is the only truth. Wars on Originis are rare but devastating when they occur, because resonance weaponized is catastrophic. Stories set here work best when the world itself feels like a character — the Singing Ranges should feel alive, the Sylvanet should feel omniscient.

Resonance magic is the manipulation of vibrational frequencies inherent in leyline energy. All life on Originis has some passive resonance sensitivity; the Veyari can actively tune, amplify, and redirect it.
