Sapient Species
The Veyari evolved from a common proto-primate ancestor approximately 2 million years ago. Geographic separation over 600,000 years produced the five modern subtypes. All share the core resonance-organ anatomy: a crystalline structure behind the sternum called the Chord-node that interfaces with leyline energy.
The Veyari do not have a word for 'alone' in the emotional sense — their resonance-sense always perceives the faint hum of nearby leylines and, at closer range, other Veyari. Complete isolation is a medical condition requiring treatment, not a chosen state.
