Fauna
The Stormcrown Apex is the largest land predator on Originis: a fifteen-meter biped whose storm-grey hide is veined in living violet lightning that flickers in 4-12 Hz pulses with every breath. The hind legs are columnar and tendon-bunched, the reduced forelimbs three-clawed and tucked tight against a deep ribcage. Its skull bears a horned crest that funnels into resonant cavities, lending the bellow a chord-quality that shakes leaves loose half a kilometer away. Molten gold eyes sit forward for binocular hunting; rows of sword-length serrated teeth interlock behind black gums. A pale belly transitions through pebbled flanks into the storm-grey dorsum, with vestigial down running the spine and standing up like a ridgeline mane in display. When hunting at night the violet veins surge brighter, painting the surrounding rain in lavender flashes, and Pale Sister's full face triggers the apex into a prolonged bellow-call that other Stormcrowns answer across the continent in a slow chord-dialogue.
All five Veyari subtypes give the Stormcrown a wide road. Valari grass-clans burn watchfires when one is heard chord-bellowing; Cael fliers refuse to roost in any tree the apex has scraped. A myth common to plains and forest alike claims that the first thunder ever heard on Originis was a Stormcrown waking, and that the planet's storms still answer when the beasts call. Hunting one is forbidden under the Concord of Five.
