Discovered in 2006 from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the Canes Venatici Dwarf is among the faintest and most extended dwarf galaxies known. It is so diffuse that its stars blend almost seamlessly with the Milky Way's stellar halo, and it may be a remnant disrupted by ancient tidal forces.
