Leo I

One of the most distant known satellite galaxies of the Milky Way, Leo I is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy with an unusually young stellar population, suggesting a prolonged period of star formation that ended only about 1 billion years ago — much more recently than most dwarf spheroidals.
