Era
The earliest recorded age of Verath. The Lethrin species dominates all known continents, having developed agriculture, written language, and basic leyline manipulation. The proto-Verathen peoples are scattered, nomadic, and in early conflict with Lethrin territorial expansion.
Lethrin oral traditions describe the Age of Dawn as their golden era — a time when their elders could read the leylines like a map and inscribe runes that would hold for a thousand years. Archaeological evidence supports a civilization of astonishing sophistication: aqueducts, load-bearing stone arches, and sealed chambers that maintain a constant temperature to this day.
Stories set in the Age of Dawn should emphasize the alien strangeness of the Lethrin compared to the Verathen — they think slowly but plan across generations. Magic is more reliable here: leylines are stronger, less disrupted by the geological changes that will come.
