Remnant-7 was not always a pocket dimension. Something — possibly related to Drevon's activation, possibly entirely separate — tore a dimensional rift through it approximately 3 million years ago. The planet exists partially in normal space and partially in an adjacent dimensional layer. Something lives in it. The sensors that have detected biological signatures have not been able to clarify what kind of biology, or whether the conventional definition applies.
