Aeva orbits in the overlapping habitable zone of a binary system, bathed in the shifting interplay of two orange-amber stars. Its days cycle through complex patterns of light dominance — sometimes one star rules, sometimes both share the sky, sometimes neither. The civilizations that rose here adapted not just biologically but culturally: architecture, agriculture, warfare, and magic are all calibrated to the dual-light cycles. A city's orientation to the binary suns tells you which faction built it.
