Irregular Dwarf
The Sagittarius Dwarf Irregular Galaxy — not to be confused with the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical, a different galaxy being tidally disrupted by the Milky Way. SagDIG is one of the most metal-poor galaxies known, containing stars with almost no heavy elements. It resides near the far edge of the Local Group, slowly forming stars from its reservoir of primordial gas.
